The birth of Muskoka Bedding Co. and Eastport Designs can be traced back to 1997. My husband John and I opened a bed and breakfast in an old and charming arts and crafts-style house that we had renovated in the village of Rosseau in Muskoka, Ontario. I wanted my guests to have a memorable experience when they stayed at our B&B – from the beautifully decorated house to made-from-scratch breakfasts to a cozy bedroom. My attempts at personalizing sheets, bedding and house coats got glowing reviews from our guests, and encouraged me to take the next step and open a store – Muskoka Bedding Co. – in a coach house we renovated next to our B&B. 



It wasn’t long before the Muskoka cottage community embraced the unique product that I was creating. Many cottagers loved to “name” their little bit of heaven and I whimsically added their cottage name on to linens, towels and Dock Robes. This line of product expanded to doing personalized pillowcases and towels for children, monogramming for weddings and other special events in our lives.

A family move back to London, Ontario in 2004 led me to the open my next store – Eastport - in Port Stanley on the shores of Lake Erie. I closed the store in 2007, in part to give me more time to focus on this website and the next step in the evolution of my distinctive products for bedroom and bath, and to reach more customers like you. 



My attention to product quality, detail and design has been rewarded with a loyal and growing group of happy customers. My next focus will be on sourcing as much of my product from Canadian sources and utilizing local seamstresses.
